The festive season is here and for those of you who have no plans to leave the city, why not check out this lovely restaurant just a stone’s throw from it all? Sit in a lovely garden and listen to birds or in the chic and stylish dining room as you indulge in some great Italian fare and delicious wines.
A real rare fine, The Zest is stylish, contemporary on the inside, yet lush and tropical on the outside. It also has a swimming pool and even an archery field. A charming organic vegetable and herbs plot to the back showcases the fresh produce used in the kitchen and there is also a wooden pavilion where you can take cooking classes.
As lovely as the setting, you are going to go there for the food, and they cover classic Italian fare with great authenticity. Start off with the Hokkaido scallops salad for a refreshing start and then dig into a light and creamy spaghetti carbonara. For a heartier meal, try the grilled whole chicken which is an upgrade on a traditional Sunday roast as it is cooked in white wine, garlic, pepper, rosemary and served with delicately sautéed potatoes and spinach.
