CNX Rugby 11s

By | Mon 24 Nov 2025
As we start to go into the cooler winter months here in the North, the Dragon Couriers CNX International Rugby 11s is being held on the 29th November 2025.
All the action, to warm you up on a winters day will begin with the Men’s Open Division which will be contested by 10 teams in 2 groups of 5, ensuring that there will be plenty of rugby played and a true test of fitness and endurance by the team that will claim the honour of being 2025 Champions. With most teams coming to the end of their seasons, they are battle hardened and will be looking to exploit any weaknesses in the oppositions defence.
We are excited to have some teams making their debut at this year’s event with the Nova Rugby Club from Papua New Guinea & the Manila Nomads form the Philippines,  making the trek North. Old friends will also be in abundance with the Hanoi Dragons, Bangkok Bangers and Bangkok Southerners looking to add some more silverware to their already bulging trophy cabinets. We are also excited to have three of the top Thai university sides in the draw which is an indication that the youth pipeline is growing in strength.
Mae Fah Luang, Srinakharinwirot University & Thonburi University Will be showcasing their emerging talent. Two local Chiang Mai clubs will be looking to make an impact with the Chiang Mai Cobras & the Lanna Rugby Club going for glory & renewing their rivalry.
In the Women’s Open we have the delight of seeing the Bangkok Southerners ladies returning on their annual trip to the North and they will be taking on their old rivals and defending champions the Bangkok Bangers Belles in a four team round robin group which will also see the Lanna Lionesses and the Vietnam Barbarians looking to cause an upset come the finals.
In the vets division, last year’s winners the CNX Cobras will be looking to defend the title but will come under some serious pressure as the Bangkok Southerners will be fielding a strong challenge & the Lanna Rugby Club will put out a vets team for the first time.
It’s building up to be a spectacular weekend of rugby with Referee Manager, Jean Luc once again keeping his beady eye on his team of officials at the Suthep Stadium.
The socials for Friday & Saturday nights will be held at the Moat House near Tapae Gate so come on down and meet the teams and talk all things rugby whilst having a quiet cold beer!.

On Sunday there will be a youth rugby development camp open to all age groups both boys & girls from 10AM to 2PM with Lanna Rugby Club. Its free to join so come on down with the kids.
