Drawn in a very strong Group A with the French Asia Babarians (FABs), Southerners Black, HK Scotish & the Darwin Stray Cats, it was going to be a stern test of their abilities.
From the first game the All Stars were on fire, playing an expansive open running style. They had impresive wins against the Southerners Black 12-0, Darwin Stray Cats 26-0 & HK Scottish, before going down to the FABs 12-0, and just missing out on a place in the final.
The Plate final awaited against a very strong Bangkok Bangers who proved they are still one of the best social sides around the region. The All Stars gave everything and left nothing out there but were always second best, going down 33-7.
Finishing fourth is a great achievment, and shows Northern Rugby is growing and becoming ever more compeatative.
All Stars Chairman and founding member Nor Zasi said ” I am very happy with what the lads have achieved. To go to Pattaya and compete at a high level and finish fourth is great for us and for Northern Thailand. Congratulation Pattaya Panthers for hosting a great tournament”.
