By | Wed 25 Jan 2023

Chiang Mai Flower Festival bears a long history being one of the biggest festivals in Thailand, it started as a local celebration in the 70s and has grown into a massive event that attracts tourists from all over the world nowadays. After skipping last year’s celebrations due to Covid, the festival is finally back this year from February 3rd to 5th.

Same as every other year, this year’s Flower Festival will be held mainly at Nong Buak Haad Park, where fields and fields of flowers will be on display, together with a flower contest, performances, and a “Flower Fairy” beauty pageant. Moreover, there will also be giant flower arches all over the park’s pathways and an adorable family of rabbits that lives in a mushroom house.

The most dazzling and outstanding activity of the Flower Festival will be a parade of flower floats on the second day of the festival (Saturday, February 4th). It goes from Nawarat Bridge at 8am., passes through Tha Pae Road and ends at Nong Buak Haad Public Park. All the flower floats will be decorated as charming as wonderlands where traditional Lanna costumes become the highlight of the festival that can only be seen in Chiang Mai, the Rose of the North.

This is the year tourists are all coming back to Chiang Mai, so definitely expect extraordinary crowds to be there!
