Chiang Mai has, of course, no shortage of spas — we have long been something of a world capital of the massage table — but Charis Spa, which recently opened on Sridonchai Road near the Night Bazaar, is doing something a little different. The name Charis is the Greek word for “grace” — and it wears it well. There is no grand lobby statement, no synthetic fragrance pumped through the vents. A friendship, a farm and a pandemic

The story behind Charis Spa begins not with a business plan but with a moringa farm and a friendship. Sofia Chen, who has spent most of her career in health and beauty, runs the spa with her husband David Chen. Sight is the first to register at Charis Spa. The aesthetic is modern Lanna — warm timbers, natural materials, craft details, nature kept genuinely close. The space

Charis Spa offers specialised themed treatment rooms, featuring body and massage beds and foot massage chairs spread across a fully equipped facility.
