Free night time cultural spectacle at Viang Kum Kam this weekend

The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts Office Region 7 Chiang Mai will be launching a nighttime historical site tour at Wiang Kum Kam between 27th February to 1st March between 4pm and 10pm nightly. This event, kicking off this Friday night, is called ‘Aew Kum Kam Yam Laeng: In Our Hearts Forever – Love & Forever’.

Explore the ruins of the ancient first capital of the Lanna Kingdom, founded by King Mangrai over 700 years ago, through illuminated temple landmarks including Wat That Khao, Wat Pu Bia, Wat Nan Chang, and Wat I Kang.

Event highlights include:
Night tours of heritage sites with light installations; cultural performances by over 200 performers; Thai drama Khun Chang Khun Phaen; Khon performances from the Ramakien epic; Kad Kum Kam @Love community market; exhibitions on Wiang Kum Kam and HM Queen Sirikit.

Free admission.

Visitors are encouraged to wear traditional Thai or local attire. Registered participants will receive a commemorative souvenir.
