Lanna nexus creative market lands at Ploen Ruedee
Local wisdom and contemporary ideas share a space at Ploen Ruedee this month, when the Lanna Nexus Creative Market sets up under the theme Sip, Soul, Synergy l, a nice three word wrap up of an event which covers drinks and flavours, Lanna’s spiritual and cultural traditions, and the innovations coming out of the region’s entrepreneurs.
Sip is the food and drink end of things. Soul leans into Lanna heritage, belief and the auspicious traditions that tend to follow. Synergy is where the newer, more entrepreneurial products live.
On the tables: handicrafts, local goods, amulets, jewellery, sacred objects and other crafts drawing on traditional belief systems, alongside whatever else falls under “innovative creations” this time round. There will be activities too, in what organisers describe as a relaxed setting.
The market runs 22nd to 23rd August from 6.30am to 9pm at Ploen Ruedee Market, opposite Jing Jai. It’s put on by the Industrial Promotion Center Region 1, whose stated aim is linking Lanna’s charm with ideas for the future.
