The Citylife Garden Fair is back on Saturday, 21st November 2026, from 10am until 10pm at Boonthavorn Gardens.
Twenty-one years ago, Citylife brought together clients, readers and friends for a day of shopping, eating and dancing to raise money for victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami. What started as a small community fundraiser has become an annual Chiang Mai tradition, raising millions of baht for local and regional causes along the way.
Last year’s fair drew more than 12,000 visitors. This year organisers are expecting over 15,000, and the 400 vendor spaces sold out within four hours of going on sale.
The fair will bring together businesses, makers, restaurants, schools and independent entrepreneurs across the gardens of Boonthavorn for a day of eating, drinking, shopping, music and activities.
This year’s principal beneficiary is Philanthropy Connections Foundation’s support of Baan Unrak, a home in Sangkhlaburi, Kanchanaburi Province, caring for 137 children and running weekly outreach for the area’s elderly, disabled and disadvantaged residents. A further 30% of funds raised will go to Boonthavorn Chiang Mai’s air-filtration lending library, which provides affordable access to air purifiers during Chiang Mai’s annual air-pollution season.
Money will be raised through a tombola and raffle plus silent and live auctions, with prizes donated by local businesses. 100% of funds raised go directly to the chosen causes.
Tombola and raffle tickets are 60 baht, with every ticket coming with a high chance to win something worth more than the price paid. This is possible because of the remarkable generous donations of Chiang Mai’s businesses and Citylife’s friends. The silent auction runs throughout the day; the live auction takes place on the main stage in the afternoon. Citylife staff and volunteers, in Garden Fair T-shirts, will be on hand to explain how either works.
Entertainment starts with local school groups in the morning, followed by Thai and expatriate bands performing throughout the day. There will be activities for children and booths from local charities and organisations, some of which are given free of charge.
Citylife became Chiang Mai’s first carbon-neutral company in 2008 and aims to make the Garden Fair carbon-neutral too, measuring and offsetting emissions from preparation, transport, materials and waste, with recycling and compost stations throughout the venue.
With over 15,000 people expected, parking will be limited. Songtaews will run between Central Airport Plaza and Boonthavorn Gardens roughly every 15 to 30 minutes for 50 baht each way. Additional parking is available at the petrol station before the fair on the same side of the road, with free shuttle songtaews to the venue.
