Brewing Change Over Coffee: New Monthly Talk Series Kicks Off at Warm Heart Learning Center

By | Thu 12 Jun 2025

A new monthly gathering is about to launch in Hang Dong, offering residents a refreshing way to start their weekend—with coffee, conversation, and a commitment to community.

Beginning Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Warm Heart Learning Center will host Coffee & Good Conversation, a free talk series held every second Saturday of the month from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Each event will center on a timely theme and feature a local changemaker, expert, or storyteller to inspire open discussion and meaningful connection. The idea is simple: bring people together over a cup of coffee to talk about things that matter.

The inaugural session tackles one of the most urgent and sensitive issues of our time—child safety—and features renowned peace activist and child protection advocate Dr. Sombat Boonngamanong, Chairman of the Peace Culture Foundation. The talk, titled “Protecting Our Children,” will explore how to recognize signs of abuse or grooming, and how parents and caregivers can foster trust, love, and resilience in young lives.

“How do we keep our children safe in today’s world? How can we build relationships that protect rather than control?” These are just a few of the questions Dr. Sombat will address in what promises to be a powerful and practical discussion.

The event is open to all—parents, teachers, youth workers, or simply concerned community members—and is designed to be a safe and respectful space for honest dialogue.

More Than a Monthly Meetup

The Coffee & Good Conversation series is the latest offering from Warm Heart Worldwide, a Chiang Mai-based non-profit organization with deep roots in rural community development.

Founded in 2008, Warm Heart has been working to empower marginalized communities in northern Thailand through education, healthcare, environmental innovation, and sustainable livelihoods.

Their work with Hill Tribe children, elderly citizens, and smallholder farmers has earned them recognition both locally and internationally.

In recent years, Warm Heart expanded its impact through the creation of the Warm Heart Learning Center in Hang Dong—a space that combines organic gardening, climate education, creative workshops, and community events. The new Saturday morning conversation series builds on that vision, offering a forum where people can learn, connect, and act.

Future sessions will cover a wide range of topics, from climate resilience to creative expression, mental wellness, and grassroots activism. While the conversations may vary, one thing remains consistent: the events are always free, friendly, and open to all.
