Busarin has been a well known face in Chiang Mai for decades…for being the owner of one of the first wine shops and bars in town – Wine Gallery – for hosting some of the most memorable wine events in our city’s history, for cooking up a passionate storm of delicious food at every occasion, and in more recent years, for her successful restaurant Magnolia, which offers up some of the best Thai and international cuisine in the city (Michelin said so, so there!)

Busarin has been restless over the pandemic, like many of us, and has put her time to good use, unlike many of us.

She has recently opened Busarin, a four table intimate little (posh) hole-in-the-wall serving up fantastic Thai food, “Whatever I feel like making,” she grins.

A perfect spot for lunch, you can get kanom jeen and roti dishes with a great selection of curries and sauces from all regions of Thailand. The flavours are punchy, though not overly hot, and each dish is exquisitely presented.

The desserts is definitely something to talk about, and take home! She serves up some classic Thai rice desserts, from sticky rice with longan to durian to a few other special treats which you can also buy to take home to your freezer for later.

And then there is the fantastic wine shop next door…so why not pop by Busarin, grab a bite, order a bottle, and spend your lunch/afternoon/evening, spoiling yourself rotten?
