The Hard Rock Cafe is an iconic brand known to anyone who has travelled outside of Chiang Mai…until now. Right in the heart of the Night Bazaar, Chiang Mai’s very own Hard Rock Café has opened this year and is filled with incredible rock paraphernalia. With 170 branches in 74 countries around the world, the franchise owners of Hard Rock has made sure that Chiang Mai’s venue has some of the best picks of the collection of over 80,000 rock memorabilia; from Eric Clapton’s guitar to Ariana Grande’s skimpy concert outfit! There is a signed poster of Maroon 5, Lady Gaga’s outfit, and items from Justin Timberlake and Beyonce. Though of course, His Majesty the King’s famous photograph with Elvis Presley, is one of the featured highlights.

The Cafe itself sits on a bustling street, with both upstairs and downstairs areas opening up to views of the shoppers below. There is also an outdoors balcony, perfect to sit with a cold sunset drink. There is even a Hard Rock Cafe gift shop right across the soi where you can grab a t-shirt, a key ring or any number of cool Hard Rock paraphernalia as a gift for a friend or a keepsake. The décor is very Hard Rock, but also has hints and nods to Lanna in its choice of textiles and usage of beautiful polished wood.

Great music is played all day long; with rock music from the 70s to today’s tunes. And at night the venue rocks out with live music of great local talent.

Rock isn’t the only reason to go, the food at Hard Rock is pure Americana, with burgers, grilled goodies, chocolate brownies as well as soul food. Wash it all down with frosty margaritas, cold beers and an assortment of fabulous cocktails. But if you are looking for more local flavours, they also have a good selection of sticky rice and chicken, northern sausages and chicken cashew nuts.

This is a great venue to go for an after work mojito, a night on the town with some friends, an incentives dinner for clients or staff, or a big and noisy birthday party.

You can’t miss Hard Rock Café Chiang Mai, as standing guard outside welcoming passersby, is the 2.1 metre ‘Rocky’ or, ‘pink elephant outside the room’ as the owner cheekily calls him.

Parking is very convenient at the Pavilion, just across the soi.
