Officials from Ob Luang National Park invited Citylife out to check out their safety inspection along the Mae Chaem River to ensure readiness ahead of the reopening of the river tubing activity for the 2026 season. With temperatures heating up fast, this popular summer is expected to drawlarge numbers of visitors to the park this year. Following the latest safety assessment, the park has officially confirmed it will reopen tubing activities on 21st March 2026.
A key highlight this year is the introduction of an additional repute to float along the Mae Chaem River in Hot District. The new short route covers a distance of 3 kilometres and takes approximately 1–1.5 hours, while the original long route spans 7 kilometres and takes around 2–2.5 hours. Both routes offer scenic views of dramatic rock cliffs and rare geological formations, with water depths averaging 50–100 centimetres, providing safe and relaxing conditions for tubing.
The activity will operate in four daily rounds at 10am, 11am, 1pm, and 2pm, with each round limited to 15 participants to ensure safety and proper supervision. Park officials will be stationed along the route throughout the activity. The all-inclusive service fee is 150 baht for Thai nationals and 250 baht for foreign visitors, covering tube rental, life jacket rental, shuttle transport, and national park entrance fees.
Visitors can now reserve their spots in advance via the park’s QR code booking system. The reopening is expected to help stimulate tourism and generate income for local communities during the summer season. Advance reservations can be made through the Ob Luang National Park Facebook page.
