The Four Seasons finally has a proper bar! Designed by the great Bill Bensley, Ratree is hands down one of Chiang Mai’s sexiest bars. Featuring a twelve metre day bed which swings, as well as a couple of King size ones to lounge on, and large comfy cushions to lounge against, the only drawback is that last orders are at 10 p.m., because once there, it is seriously hard to leave. Side tables are suspended from the ceilings, and swing gently enough for you to place your drinks on. Moody lighting, great chill out music and a fantastic view of the swimming pool and resort’s rice paddies beyond makes this THE place to cosy up to your lover, or party – there’s a pool table – with a group of friends. Not for the financially challenged, however, with alcoholic drinks starting at about 220 for a local beer, 280 for a corona, 340 for a house wine and 360 for cocktails (plus 17% VAT and service charge). Residents with the 25% resort discount are advised to remember to take your card!
