This restaurant is well worth a try if you are one of the many Japanese aficionados in Chiang Mai. The nicely decorated air-conditioned restaurant is set up in Oriental style, with long cushioned seats at each table where you have the option of grilling the food yourself, as well as an expansive outdoor area with live music performances. They offer a fine beef dish called ‘Charolles,’ a kind of French beef which is succelent and soft and comes with a speicla sauce from Kabuki; it’s served with many side dishes such as miso soup, bean sprout salad, kimji, seasonal fruit, chilli, garlic and a few other little knick-knacks. The healthy Shabu Shabu menu offers organic vegetables, with no sugar or MSG in the dishes, and there are tons of other healthy eating options including the old favourite, sushi. Many of the ingredients are imported from Japan, and you get a real Japanese ambience here. Also serves as a beer garden with various beer buffets and promotions.
