Woman who Killed and Cooked her Kids in Chiang Mai Says she Loved her Children but had to Kill them

Surawit, along with the Assistant Minister of Public Health Kiatphum Wongjit, the deputy director of Mental Health, Surasingh Wisarutrat, deputy director of Chiang Mai Public Health Office and Suwat Mahitnirankul, the director of Suan Prung Hospital, held a press conference concerning the case that has shocked people all over Thailand after Thai daily Chiang Mai News released gruesome pictures of Namai, and some of the chopped up remains of her children.
Surawit told the press that he had already talked to Namai, who had earlier been sent for treatment at Suan Prung Hospital. He explained that the young woman had severe mental problems, including schizophrenia. Namai told the minister she missed her children and loved them very much. She also said that even though she knew what she was doing she could not control herself. Surawit explained that Namai told him she killed her children because her deceased father told her to do it.
Namai is currently undergoing treatment.
