Three Astronomical Activities to be Hosted in Late 2012 – 2013
CityNews – The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand has announced that it will host three astronomical activities in late 2012 and early 2013. It has also announced that it will will open the new observatory in in January 2013.
During the first activity, ‘Youth Camp and Cultural Exchange’, children will have the chance to watch the sky at night and absorb the beauty of the nature at Doi Inthanon National Park.
The second activity, ‘Astronomical Workshop for Teachers’, is aimed at teachers and is divided into three levels. In the beginner level, teachers will be briefly informed about astronomy. Intermediate level teachers will be taught astronomical techniques, and Advance level teachers will learn how to develop the astronomical research.
The last activity, ‘Looking at the Stars at Night’, is open for all people to see meteors and stars at night at the new observatory at Doi Inthanon National Park.
Three seperate student camps will be hosted; 19th – 21st December and 3rd – 5th April at Doi Inthanon National Park and 24th – 25th April in the Kanjanaburi province.
