Sciences for the future of Mankind

CityNews – The Faculty of Sciences, Chiang Mai University, would like to invite all interested parties to join HRH Princess Sirindhorn on the occasion of the opening of the 38^th Congress on Science and Technology of Thailand under the heading ‘Sciences for the future of Mankind’ at the International Convention Centre, The Empress Hotel.

This meeting is to be a national event to exchange knowledge between scientists from all over Thailand in the hopes of improving knowledge of science and technology. This event has been held for 40 years since the 1972 event held by Field Marshall Phibul Songkram. Assistant Professor Doctor Samphan Singharachawarapan, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, CMU, said that the university is most honoured to be involved in the congress under the auspices of the Science and Technology Society of Thailand.

So far 1500 have signed on for advanced registration, including scientists, researchers and academics from within Thailand as well as abroad.

Two guest speakers are highly anticipated and include Dr. Nipon Chattipakorn, President of the, Cardiac Electrophysiology Research and Training Center, Faculty of Medcine, Chiang Mai University, who will be talking about his results in working with irregular heart beat and Professor Dr. Piyarat Govitrapong from Mahidol University’s Institute of Molecular Biosciences, who will be talking about her research into melatonin which can regenerate brain cells.

Many other scientests will be attending and there will be over 60  scientists giving talks in total.
