Rape and Abortion Drugs Found in Chiang Mai

CityNews – On 10th October, 11 a.m. officers from Chiang Mai Public Health Office and police from Chiang Mai City Police Station arrested Prasert Phusit (63), the owner of a pharmacy (P.Bhesut) located on Chotana Road in Chang Puek, after a police spy went to the pharmacy and bought illegal drugs.

Wattana Kanjanakamon, the head of Chiang Mai Public Health Office revealed that this pharmacy sold Mifeprostone (RU486), an unregistered drug in Thailand which is used to abort pregnancy and is widely used in Europe and America.  The police also found large quantities of Alprazolam pills, a type of drug used mostly used to treat anxiety and panic disorders, and nausea from chemotherapy. Alprazolam is commonly known as a rape drug in Thailand as it has been used to make females rape victims unconscious.
