He expects that 70% of voters and from 1.2 million available voters in Chiang Mai will turn out. He warned candidates not to spend more than the 4.2 million baht that is the maximum they can spend on their campaign. Petch reiterated that if the candidates over-spend this could cause problems to the election.

Petch also added that the media might possibly bend the truth on election day to affect the end result, as has been the case in the past sometimes: “Another concern of mine is news reports. On election day, polls, or news reports, might affect the voters’ decision. After the election it’s fine, criticism, or reports are fine.”
