Police Arrest More People After Photo of Three Year Old Smoking Amphetamines Causes Outrage in Thailand

CityNews – On 13th October, around 10.40 a.m. Police Region 5 held a press conference after they arrested Jirapat Rompanadham, aka Noi (32), who was accused of selling yaba pills, pills that had been sold to the boy who posted the photo on Facebook of a child smoking amphetamines.

On 7th October, Police Region 5 and Udonthani Police arrested A (given name), a 14 year-old boy who posted a photo on Facebook of a three year old child taking drugs. A told police that the picture was not real, only it was made to look real. He said the child wasn’t actually smoking the ice.

After an investigation police discovered that the pills had come from a woman called Nhu Suwannakarn. She told police that she had bought the pills from Jirapat Rompanadham. It’s thought the pills were transported in a rice cooker by bus from Chiang Rai to Udonthani. Police arrested Jirawat at his home in Chiang Rai, but he currently denies all charges.
