Persistent Local Woman Who Built on Chiang Mai Ancient City Wall Refuses to Take Down her Building
CityNews – Pensinee Phromseranee, a local woman who built a small edifice on the old Chiang Mai city wall without permission in 2010, has come up against the Chiang Mai administration again after she was ordered to remove her construction in 2010 but refused to do so.
On 18th June M.L. Panadda Dissakul, the governor of Chiang Mai, held a meeting with the Office of Chiang Mai Public Prosecution, Office of Treasury Department Chiang Mai, The 8th Regional Office of Fine Arts Department Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Municipality Office, Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning Chiang Mai, Department of Lands Chiang Mai and Office for Natural Resources and Environment Chiang Mai.
The meeting focused on the progress of the case against Pensinee. At the moment she still persists not to remove her construction from the ancient wall. She also filed a complaint against the Chiang Mai Mayor to the Chiang Mai Administrative Court in 2011 in order to delay the order of the Chiang Mai Municipality. The case has been put on hold again.
