(Only) Red Shirts Stand for Provincial Council

CityNews – Suchart Jaipakdee, the head of the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand, announced the application date for the Chiang Mai Provincial Organisation Council and for the head of the Chiang Mai Provincial Organisation that will take place 24th – 28th May, 8 a.m. – 4.30 p.m. at the 80th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Building located behind the Chiang Mai Provincial Office.

The former Chiang Mai Organisation Council and the former head of the Chiang Mai Organisation Council stepped down May 10th, 2012. The council was led by Boonlert Buranupakorn. This time round there are two local groups who are interested in the coming election. One is a red shirt faction led by the ex-head of the Chiang Mai Provincial Office called the Phue Thai Khunnatham Party. Another group is led by red shirt Dr. Thaworn Kiatchaiyakorn from the Phue Thai Chiang Mai Party. Both of them will have applicants for all 42 seats in the election.
