Man Arrested for Attempting to Steal Money from ATM

CityNews – On July 12th at approximately 6:30 p.m., police arrested a 37 year-old Burmese man, Lo Sawasdee, for attempting to break into a Government Savings Bank ATM on Changmoi road on July 8th.

 

The ATM was damaged to the extent that bank clerks were unable to open the drawer containing the money, although Lo was not able to procure any money for himself.

Police were able to track down Lo after his attempt was captured on security cameras. According to police, investigators found Lo walking in the vicinity on July 12th. After detaining him, they discovered that Lo did not have an identity card, and was an illegal immigrant from Burma. Lo confessed to the crime, saying that he believed he would be able to extract money from the ATM before discovering that he was being captured on security cameras, and fleeing halfway through the attempt.
