Freshman Learn University Anthem and Ethics
CityNews – On Sunday 3rd June at Chiang Mai University the ‘Freshmen Orientation 2012’ was held at the sports field in front of the 40 Year Dormitory.
No Alcohol, drugs, gambling
The objective was to inculcate good social values in students at the university. All freshmen were taught to sing the CMU anthem in order to create unity and pride among CMU students. Around 6,300 freshmen in Chiang Mai University attended the orientation.
Students were also taught how to be good Buddhists on Monday 4th June, and learned about Buddhist practices and values as well as the importance of sobriety. A ‘No Alcohol in Religious Places’ campaign was headed by Panadda Disakul, and supported by the Chiang Mai Governor, along with CMU deputy president, CMU assistant president, and CMU lecturers.
The first class of term started on Tuesday 5th June.
