Taworn explained that Boonlert and his campaign crew were supposed to accompany PM Yingluck Shinawatra to the opening of Sankamphaeng School. Taworn claims that the opening never happened, but the story was still published in the newspaper for people to believe.

Secondly, the election poll results came out seven days before the election day, which is against the rules says Taworn because revealed poll numbers may influence people’s votes. Thirdly, Taworn says Boonlert used billboards similar to those used in presidential elections and council elections, which is an incorrect way of advertising according to the Election Act 2002 on section 57(5). This has happened before in the 2005 mayor election in Sanpatong.

Boonrat Wongyai, head of Chiang Mai Provincial Election Commission, said that the office received seven complaints; six cases concerning the presidential election and one case concerning the council members. The Chiang Mai Provincial Election Commission will investigate these complaints for 30 days.
