The Goods
The Police Commander of Lampang reported on 25th May 2012 that the offenders Heu Seahor and Panida Seahor, a couple from Chiang Rai, were stopped and checked while they were on their way from Chiang Rai to Bangkok to deliver the drugs.
As the couple passed through Lampang on 24th May 2012 at around 11:00 a.m., the police did a routine stop on the truck and found the drugs. Police told the media that they need more check points as they think many more couriers are working on the roads every day.
Thailand’s War on Drugs (WoD) is raging and arrests are common, though many people have criticised government and police initiatives for copying and ultimately failing the same way many other countries have previously failed in their effort to stem the use of drugs.
