Drowned Girl Scout Parents Drowning in Bills
CityNews – Parents of a 13 years old girl that drowned in a Girl Scout Association’s swimming pool have held a protest to order the association to take responsibility for their daughter’s accident. Hiranyica Luangdang drowned while trying to help her friend on 19th September 2012 at 2 p.m.
Four months after the accident, the victim is still unconscious at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital hospital. On 21st March 2012, in front of Chiang Mai Girl Scouts Association that is located close to Regina Coeli School, around 30 people stood alongside grieving parents Boonlerd Luangdang and Aomboon Luangdang.
Aomboon expressed that four months and two days in hospital had cost her family more than 1 million baht and that the Girl Scouts Association had not helped with the costs and that she wants the association to take some responsibility.
Boonlerd Luangdang, the father of the girl, said that Girl Scout Association never showed any responsibility and visited his daughter only three times in these four months. The association never mentioned compensation or financial aid while his daughter was still unconscious. So, hopefully the association, following media interest and protest, will show some responsibility.
“Concerning what had happened, we have to accept it,” said Boonlerd, the girl’s father, “but we cannot afford the service for the long period of recovery.”
