The complaint was lodged by the Chiang Mai Paramotor Club whose members, while flying about, had noticed widespread trespassing. Information from Protected Regional Office 16 showed many people had been trespassing in the park for the purpose of farming in the Chang Khian area. In total there were approximately 4000 plots in 4 districts.
The Governor said that this is an urgent issue and is taking immediate action. Already authorities have started to bring in people who were trespassing in order to make them show off their documents. Investigations are planned to start from Chang Khian and will be led by Protected Region Office 16, who will examine and report their findings in one month’s time. New trespassers and those who already have trespassed will be prosecuted.
