Chiang Mai Public Health Office Closely Observes Hand Foot and Mouth Disease

CityNews – Doctor Surasing Wisarutrat, the deputy head of Chiang Mai Public Health Office, said that dengue, as well as Hand, Foot and Mouth disease have been spreading rapidly between May and August, the rainy season.

It looks like this

576 people have been infected with Hand, Foot and Mouth disease in Chiang Mai since the start of this year, and there have been 144 cases in July. It is assumed that there will be a lot more cases in the coming months.

People infected usually recover with 10 days. If children get infected they should be taken to a doctor, and then treated daily with medical ointment.

The doctor added that there have been 10,000 cases all over Thailand, most of them bewteen 2 and 5 years old studying at at kindergartens.
