Celebrating Buddha’s Enlightenment at Wat Prasingh

CityNews – A celebration for  the 2600^th year of Buddha’s Enlightenment will be held for the first time in the Grand Hall of Wat Prasingh from the 11^th May to the 20^th of May, 2012.  

Discussing the ceremony

On the 11^th May at 5 p.m. there will be a ceremony showing some of Buddha’s relics from Prakiaokaew Temple in Sri Lanka. A procession on the back of an elephant will head from the Three Kings Monument into PrasinghTemple that day. The procession will consist of the Legion of Honor, police in full uniform, Buddhist flag carriers, women in Lanna costume scattering flowers, Lanna-style drumming, worshipers, ancient Buddha sedan, and many other people. The procession will be lead by a photographer of the royal family.
