Auspicious License Plates go for Millions

CityNews – The Public Transportation Office is going to have the ninth auction where 301 specialty license plates will be bid for on 26^th – 27^th May, 2012. The auction will take place at The Empress Hotel.

All 301 license plates have been through an auspicious ritual led by two high-level monks said the transport office. It is believed that people who own these license plates will be lucky. The eight auctions so far have raised 188,058,498 baht.

The money from the auction will go to the Road Safety Fund said the office, as did the funds raised from other auctions they say. The money will buy surveillance cameras, speed measuring devices, breathalyzers, and also support a course for drivers to drive professionally.
