Another Big Food Poisoning Case in Chiang Mai: 35 Hill Tribe Kids in a Bad Way

July 22, 2012

CityNews – On July 21st, at approx. 8 p.m., the Maejo Rescue team received a call that 35 students in Sang Thai Darun Pattana, located in Nhongharn, Sansai, had food poisoning after eating dinner.

The initial investigation revealed that the chicken with rice (khao man kai) might have been the case. Most of the students had diarrhea with vomiting. The students were quickly moved to Sansai Hospital. Nine students had low blood pressure and so were kept in the hospital while the others could return home.

This is the second big case of food poisoning that has happened in a Chiang Mai school in the last month. The previous case was in Mae Rim, when old eggs made over 150 students seriously ill with salmonella.
