Almost 100 School Kids Rushed to Hospital after Food Poisoning
CityNews – Ninety-four children from a school in Mae Rim were urgently sent to hospitals around Chiang Mai due to severe food poisoning.

A total of ninety-four students aged 10-17 years old were sent to hospital with high fevers, diarrhea, and vomiting, with some cases of fatigue and weakness. After treatment, nineteen students were sent home, fifty-four remained at Nakornping Hospital, one in Sansai Hospital, two in Dara Hospital, and eighteen students stayed at the school’s infirmary.
On Sunday 8th July, students were given rice with eggplant curry, chicken, and boiled eggs. They experienced mild symptoms later that night, which became severe in the morning. The Chiang Mai Public Health Department sent nurses and doctors to the school to help transport the students to the hospitals. They also collected containers, food, and water samples for laboratory examination to determine the cause. Deputy Chief of the Chiang Mai Public Health Department, Dr. Surasing Wisarutrat, cited the cause was food poisoning.
