50,000 Amphetamine Pills Found in Man’s Suitcase in Chiang Rai

CityNews – Chiang Rai Provincial Police Station held a press conference 2nd October after a man was arrested with 50,000 amphetamine pills in Chiang Rai.

Police told the press that they had received a tip-off that drugs would be heading to Nonthaburi Province from the Thailand – Burma border. They informed the press that the tip-off led them to a Toyota pick-up that was departing from Tesco Lotus in Mae Sai. The driver of the truck, Parinya Krengkrad (38), it was reported threw a suitcase out of the truck once he realized he was being followed. 50,000 amphetamine pills were found in the truck and Parinya was arrested at a checkpoint.  

Parinya told police that he had got the pills from a Burmese man and he had been hired to transport them from Mae Sai to Bang Bau Thong in Bangkok for 100,000 baht.
