The New Governor of Chiang Mai, a northerner and former governor of Chiang Rai, Thanin Supasaen

CityNews – On 2nd October, 10 a.m. Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra appointed Thanin Supasaen, the former governor of Chiang Rai, as the new governor of Chiang Mai.

Thanin Supasaen

Supasaen, a close friend of Yaowapa Wongsawat, Taksin’s other sister, was born on 3rd April 1955 in Phrae Province. He graduated from Chiang Mai University in Political Science and has held positions of the sheriff of Saraphee district and Muang Chiang Mai district, deputy governor of Mae Hong and Lamphun and lastly the governor of Chiang Rai.
