The Mysterious Case of the Missing Pseudoephedrine Pills

May 4, 2012

CityNews – CityNews reported earlier about the 70 thousand tablets and 50 thousand tablets of flu medicine containing pseudoephedrine that went missing from Doi Lo Hospital and Hod Hospital, respectively, and we have now been informed that the Ministry of Health has set up an investigating team to find and prosecute those involved.

Wisit Tangnapakorn of the Ministry of Health Region 15 updated the press on the 3rd of May, 2012, concerning the progress on the investigation at both hospitals. He explained that it is likely that pharmacists at Doi Lo hospital used their position to order the pills, while he says the director of the hospital may also have been involved. The investigating team that has been set up is still in the process of collecting and recording data from all witnesses. The information will then be presented to the governor of Chiang Mai.

Wisit told the press that at Hod hospital the director along with pharmacists, and pharmacy staff, as well as staff responsible for managing the drug shelves, are involved.
