Seminar on Emergency Procedures for Disaster Situations in Chiang Mai
CityNews– On June 25, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Chiang Mai Provincial Office held a seminar at the Chiang Mai Hill Hotel to help train various community leaders in emergency procedures.

According to the public relations office of Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai has recently experienced a number of emergencies, such as floods, droughts, storms, that have had harmful consequences. This seminar is one of the ways in which the government has sought to implement standards for emergency prevention and procedures.
Wichai Khajornpridann, from the Department of Public Work and Town and Country Planning, stated that buildings were inspected in the case of possible earthquakes each year, with major inspections taking place every five years. Wichai also stated that this year, the department had inspected five major shopping malls, hotels, and complexes, as well as 95 government buildings, all of which were found to be in good condition. Any points of potential danger would be reported to an internal office, which would deal with the situation.
Ruangrit Phondee, head of the protection office of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Chiang Mai Provincial Office, reported that the office was ready at all times in the case of a disaster. They expect that Chiang Mai will be hit by two major thunderstorms this year, with potential flooding, and have continued to make preparations for the event.
