Planets in Conjunction during August – Spectacular Night Skies

CityNews – Even though Thailand is usually overcast with widespread rain in August, a phenomenal astronomic sight will appear in the sky.

Dr. Sarun Posayajinda, the deputy director of National Astronomical Research Institute, Ministry of Sciences and Technology said that the unusual sight can be seen early in the morning, 15th August at about 4 a.m. Venus will appear about 0.56 degrees under the moon, and it should be able to be seen with the naked eye if the night is clear.  

On 22nd August, when the sun sets, Saturn, Mars and Spica, will move into conjunction with the moon. They should all be able to be seen. Saturn will be yellow, Mars will be orange, and Spica will be white. They will be able to be seen in all parts of Thailand.
