New Elections After MP is Disqualified on Corruption Charges

CityNews – Boonyakiat Rakchatcharoen, the Deputy Secretary of the Election Commission, announced that there will be an election for the parliamentary seat of Chinnicha Wongsawat. 

The former Pheu Thai Party MP for Chiang Mai was recently banned from holding political office for 5 years due to being found guilty on corruption charges. The election will take place on 2nd June 2012, while an advance election will be on 27th May, 2012. The application for candidates will be between 7th – 11th May, 2012.

The region three constituency covers San Kamphaeng, Mae On, and Doi Saket districts in which there are 296 polling stations and a total 135,013 voters.
