Reading the Short Story
July 1 - August 5
This online class, taught by script writer and academic Don Linder, will discuss the elements of short stories, including character, plot, setting, conflict, and theme, among others. Each week we will read two short stories by international authors such as Raymond Carver, James Joyce, Flannery O’Connor, Kawabata Yasunari, Ernest Hemingway, Jorge Luis Borges, Joyce Carol Oates, Franz Kafka, Ian McEwan, Doris Lessing, Anton Chekov, Vladimir Nabokov, Katherine Anne Porter, and J.D. Salinger.
You will be sent a list of the specific stories as well as copies or links where to read them.
Wednesdays, 10a.m. – noon.
Cost: 1200 for 6 sessions.
