Anantara Chiang Mai Resort unveils ‘For the Love of Mango’ Its new afternoon tea offering

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort’s new afternoon tea menu is inspired by nature’s offering for the season, mango laced with coconut, to refresh the palate.

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is the perfect setting for a traditional afternoon tea. Its heritage mansion, formerly the British consulate, exudes Old World glamour, and the mansion’s verandah surrounded by verdant lawns offers welcome shade and a cool breeze off the river.

The ritual begins with classic British flavours – coronation chicken and smoked salmon finger sandwiches – but also hints of the Mediterranean with tartlets and arancini. Scones still warm from the oven follow, along with authentic Devonshire clotted cream and a selection of tropical jams.

It is the tower of sweets, however, that are truly memorable, with the lightest of mango choux, a mango petit gateau with coconut and sticky rice cremeux, and mango and coconut macaroons to finish.

Each bite is artfully presented on floral Wedgwood china, and paired with the tea of each guest’s choice, whether from the classic TWG collection, or the Thai Monsoon collection, with tempting blends such as Tha Pae Gate and Hillside an ode to the destination.

“Our take on afternoon tea is a proudly unique one”, says executive chef Natruthai Petsuwan, “marrying our British heritage with a taste of the tropics. We have drawn inspiration from local produce in season, providing a lightness and sweetness that is perfect for summer and refreshing”.

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort’s afternoon tea is served daily from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at 1921 House, priced at THB 990++ per person or THB 1,890 ++ per couple.
