Tango squadron air museum

October 21

There are 28 vintage aircraft at the Tango Squadron Air Museum, located on Royal Thai Air Force property at the Chiang Mai Airport. The aircraft represent the history of aviation in the area. The exhibit also includes the WWII wreck of an American Volunteer Group (AVG)/Chinese Nationalist Air Force (CNAF) “Flying Tiger P40 Tomahawk” from where it crashed. The pilot, William McGarry, survived, was imprisoned, then helped to escape by the Seri Thai (Free Thai) resistance group. The museum collection tells a fascinating story of modern Thai military history.
