Building with earth: Design and Practise workshop (3 or 5 days)

July 25 - July 29

The 5 day course (25-29 July) is especially suitable for people who have a plan to build an earth home (or any small-sized building
such as a guest room, meditation/yoga/music room, outdoor kitchen etc). It also provides an understanding of how an earth
building provides thermal comfort and energy savings (in any climate).

Hands-on sessions
– Soil testing, preparing the mix.
– Practise three techniques: Adobe, Cob, Wattle-and-Daub
– Earth plastering: base coat, finishing coat, earth paint and basic decoration

Classroom sessions
– Thermal mass versus insulation
– Bio-climatic design, passive cooling and heating

The 3 day workshop (25-27 July) is focused on practise, and suitable for those who want an introduction to earth building:
– Soil testing, preparing the mix.
– Two techniques (Adobe and Cob)
– Earth plastering: base coat, finishing coat, earth paint and basic decoration

Workshop in English, limited to 8 participants
Accomodation: Stay in a comfortable room made out of earth. Food: Vegeterian or non-vegeterian meals.
Price for 5 days: 9,800 baht/person
Price for 3 days: 6,100 baht/person

Price includes instruction, accommodation for five/three nights, all meals during the course. Discount for more than one
participant.
