The Yunnan Cup Basketball tournament will take place from 12–18 October 2026.
Chiang Mai Yunnanese Association and Chiang Mai Municipality Announce the 5th “Yunnan Cup Chiang Mai 2026,” with Total Prize Money Exceeding 500,000 Baht
The Chiang Mai Yunnanese Association, in cooperation with Chiang Mai Municipality, has announced preparations for the annual “Yunnan Cup Chiang Mai 2026,” which will be held for the fifth time this year.
The 2026 tournament has been expanded to include football as an additional sport, while women’s basketball has also been introduced to provide a new competition category for the general public. The organizers aim to raise the standard of competition from the local level toward a national level.
The tournament is intended to promote higher standards in sports and provide opportunities for young athletes and members of the public to demonstrate their abilities alongside professional athletes, nationally recognized players, and members of Thailand’s national teams who will compete in the event.
This year’s competition will feature two sports categories:
1. Basketball – 6 Categories
Men’s Youth U15 – for players aged 15 and under, village teams only: 10 teams
Men’s Youth U18 OPEN – for players aged 18 and under: 18 teams
Men’s General Public – Village Teams Only: 10 teams
Men’s General Public OPEN: 7 teams
Men’s Masters – Age 45 and Over: 4 teams
Women’s Masters – Age 30 and Over: 2 teams
The basketball competition will follow the rules of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), as adopted by the Basketball Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage.
2. Football – 1 Category
Men’s General Public – Village Teams Only: 4 teams
The football competition will follow the rules of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), as adopted by the Football Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage.
Competition Prizes
Participants will compete for prestigious championship trophies and total prize money exceeding 500,000 baht.
In addition, each competition category will feature special awards, including Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Outstanding Coach awards. The Outstanding Coach award will be presented to the coaching staff of the winning team in each category in recognition of their contribution and to encourage coaches in their continued development of athletes.

Opening Ceremony:
12 October 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
