Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, recently honoured with the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller Triple Crown, celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Anantara brand with the launch of The Chronicles of Chiang Mai, a specially curated cultural journey designed to showcase the stories, traditions and timeless charm of Chiang Mai through a meaningful and immersive experience.
The Chronicles of Chiang Mai begins with a Morning Voyage aboard Nam Jai, the resort’s handcrafted teakwood boat, cruising along the Mae Ping River. Guests are invited to experience the rhythm of riverside life while visiting Wat Ket Karam, one of Chiang Mai’s most historic temples, where they can pay their respects and receive blessings for good fortune. The journey continues through the charming Wat Ket neighbourhood, a historic community that reflects the city’s rich trading heritage and cultural exchanges over the centuries. Along the way, guests can savour the renowned local delicacy Khao Kriab Pak Moh Lung Kajorn, a Michelin Guide-recommended snack beloved by locals and visitors alike.
Upon returning to the resort, guests may relax with refreshments by the river before enjoying Flavours of Traditions, an authentic Lanna khantoke lunch at Bodhi Terrace. Served beneath the shade of 400-year-old Bodhi trees, the experience celebrates Northern Thailand’s rich culinary heritage through a carefully curated selection of regional specialities.
Created to commemorate Anantara’s 25-year journey, The Chronicles of Chiang Mai invites travellers to discover the stories, flavours and enduring spirit of Chiang Mai through a perspective that is both authentic and distinctly Anantara.
