The 49th Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2026 Press Conference

The Chiang Mai Municipality invites residents and tourists to experience the beauty of nature and Lanna art and culture at the 49th Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2026, held from February 13-15, 2026, at Nong Buak Haad Public Park, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province.
This year’s event is held under the theme “The Queen’s Blossoms, Resounding Throughout the Heavens, the Precious City of Chiang Mai,” in remembrance of the profound royal benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, who throughout her life dedicated herself to the conservation of natural resources and the promotion of Thai flowers and ornamental plants.
Mr. Assanee Buranupakorn, Mayor of Chiang Mai, stated, “The Chiang Mai Flower Festival is not just an annual tourism festival, but a platform reflecting the city’s identity, the cooperation of all sectors, and the close relationship between people and nature. This year, we have designed the exhibition area to commemorate the benevolent grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, showcasing the beauty of flowers and the creative energy of Chiang Mai simultaneously.”
This year’s highlight zones feature over 170,000 flowers from 52 different species.
Featuring 3 premium highlight zones and 2 main pavilions, the exhibition tells the story of flowers through art and landscape design, inspired by the royal initiatives related to nature.
Kids & Family Garden: A happy space for families, filled with colorful flowers, dinosaurs, and 12 zodiac lanterns. Lily & Lotus Light Garden: The central landmark of the garden, featuring hills and lotus lanterns, providing a relaxing spot and perfect for photos.
Premium Flower Garden features premium flowers, a flower tunnel, a tulip garden, hydrangeas, and 12 zodiac sign lanterns, creating a beautiful spectacle at night.
The Mayor of Chiang Mai added that the 49th Chiang Mai Flower Festival will help stimulate tourism at the beginning of the year, boost income for local businesses, and reinforce Chiang Mai’s image as the city of flowers, a city of arts and culture, and a creative city of Thailand.

170,000 Plants | 52 Varieties | 3 Premium Flower Zones The garden showcases over 170,000 flowers from 52 varieties, featuring a highlight zone with rare and expensive flowers, offering an unprecedented up-close experience.
Zone 1: Queen’s Blossoms Pavilion
The main zone of the event, dedicated to honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, showcases purple and green Dendrobium orchids, interspersed with images of her royal activities in plant conservation, watershed management, and community development for minority groups, reflecting her compassion that blossoms through flora across the land.
Zone 2: Kids & Family Garden (Left side)
A family-friendly garden filled with colorful flowers, photo spots, dinosaur models, and 12 sculptures.
Zodiac lanterns: perfect for close-up photos and fun for all ages.
Central Garden Zone: Lily & Lotus Light Garden. Immerse yourself in the beauty of lilies and lotus-shaped lantern sculptures.
The center of the park serves as a relaxing spot and a key landmark for taking photos at the event.
Zone 3: Premium Flower Garden (Right side) – This zone features a complete collection of premium flowers all in one place.
– A variety of orchids, inspired by “The Queen’s Orchids”. – Hydrangeas in purple and blue tones. – Flower Tunnel – Bamboo pumpkin arch – Tulip garden, close-up shot.
– The festivities conclude with a beautiful display of 12 zodiac signs illuminated with lanterns, creating a stunning sight at night.

The Opening Ceremony of the 49 Chiang Mai Flower Festival will take place at Buak Hat Public Park between 5pm and 8pm. The ceremony will include – Performance of “Flower Petals as a Symbol of Heartfelt Condolences for Her Majesty Queen Mother Sirikit”. Promotional video for the 49th Chiang Mai Flower Festival.
