Thailand Hosts AAHRS 2026 in Chiang Mai, Highlighting AI and Medical Innovation to Strengthen Asia’s Hair Restoration Hub
Chiang Mai, Thailand – 7 August 2026 – Thailand is hosting The 10th AAHRS Scientific Meeting 2026, an international medical conference bringing together leading hair restoration specialists, researchers and medical professionals from around the world in Chiang Mai from 7–9 August 2026 at InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping.
Held under the theme “Mega Trend in Hair Restoration Surgery,” the conference focuses on the latest developments in hair transplantation and hair restoration medicine, with particular emphasis on emerging technologies and innovations that are shaping the future of the field.
Key topics include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Precision Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, Stem Cell therapy, Exosomes, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), energy-based laser technologies and peptide therapy, alongside advanced hair transplantation techniques such as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Direct Hair Implantation (DHI).
The programme also features live surgery demonstrations and practical workshops, offering participants the opportunity to observe advanced surgical techniques, safety protocols and clinical practices first-hand. The meeting aims to raise treatment standards while strengthening professional and academic collaboration across the international medical community.
Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich, President of the Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons (AAHRS), said Thailand’s selection as host of the conference reflects international confidence in the expertise of Thai physicians and the country’s high standards of medical care.
He added that the meeting provides an important platform for exchanging knowledge, transferring innovation and strengthening Thailand’s position as a regional Medical Hub and a leading centre for hair restoration surgery in Asia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratchathorn Panchaprateep, Chairman of the Scientific Program, said one of the most significant future trends in hair restoration medicine is the growing use of AI in treatment planning, combined with increasingly precise technologies for harvesting and transplanting hair follicles.
She also highlighted the expanding application of Regenerative Medicine, Stem Cells, Exosomes and PRP, which are expected to play an important role in improving treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.
Dr. Kanokwan Chantarupalee, Chairman of the Program of Events, said hosting the international meeting not only creates a valuable platform for global knowledge exchange, but also enhances Thailand’s image as a Medical Hub and strengthens the country’s potential to become a regional centre for hair restoration surgery and medical tourism.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kulkarn Amornpattana, MD, FISHRS, Chairman of Live Surgery, said the live surgery sessions are among the key highlights of the conference.
