There was a press conference to announce the 49th Northern Thai Laab Festival will take place on 4 April 2026 at Old Chiangmai Cultural Centre.

The Chiang Mai Journalists’ Club, in collaboration with the Chiang Mai Cultural Center and partners, is organizing the 49th “Larb Muang Festival,” continuing the tradition of the Lanna New Year, on April 4th. See you at the Chiang Mai Cultural Center.

The Chiang Mai Journalists Club, in collaboration with the Chiang Mai Cultural Center, is promoting the Lanna New Year tradition and preserving Lanna culture. With the support of the Chiang Mai Provincial Administrative Organization, Singha Patana 2561 Co., Ltd., Indy Team by Madame Yok, and partners, the 49th annual “Lanna Larb Festival” will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Chiang Mai Cultural Center, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. It is confirmed that this year’s event will be just as fun and memorable as in previous years.

The “Chiang Mai Larb Festival,” organized by the Chiang Mai Journalists’ Club, has been held continuously for nearly five decades. This year marks its 49th year. In its early years, the event aimed to provide a platform for journalists in Chiang Mai to meet and socialize, as well as those who enjoyed the local cuisine, particularly “larb,” a unique Lanna dish.
