Opening of Chiang Mai Design Week 2019

The Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, H.E. Mr Somkid Jatusripitak presided over the opening of Chiang Mai Design Week 2019 at Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Center. The Chiang Mai Design Week 2019 will take place across the city from  1 – 15 December 2019. Chiang Mai Design Week 2019 has a theme “Better City, Better Living”. Highlights of the week include December 1 – 15 Chiang Mai Clayative at Chiang Mai City Arts & Culture Centre (Three Kings) 10am until 8pm – an exhibition displaying pieces of ceramic works created from local clays by 30 artists from 10 countries taking part in the 1st Chiang Mai International Ceramic Arts and Culture Symposium, each expressing inspirations behind its creation and views toward the city of Chiang Mai and making local materials known internationally December 1 – 15 Baan Tawai Furniture Exhibition at Chiang Mai Historical Centre (3 Kings) every day 10am until 8pm  – A new collection of spa furniture and accessories, a collaboration between Baan Tawai Handicraft’s Business Association and leading Thai designers, that present a contemporary Lanna identity through a combination of locally sourced natural materials and contemporary materials – an interpretation of Lanna wisdom in the universal language of design. December 7 – 14 Cultural Heritage Workshop at Chiang Mai Historical Centre Three Kings – 1pm until 8pm –  Traditional Taiwanese craftsmen and their students will be workshop. Cooperate with Chiang Mai university, Thailand Creative & Design Center(TCDC) , we will hold series of experience workshop . During the exhibition, a number of Taiwanese traditional craft experience courses and on-site demonstrations will be arranged. We have Embroidery, Chinese Knot, Lacquerware Making,Rush Weaving,Bamboo,Weaving to give you an special experience. December 7 as part of Chiang Mai Design Week (December 1 – 15) TWO TALKS at Thailand Creative & Design Centre (TCDC) Creative Talk “How can ‘Art’ develop in terms of Artist and Art-business by Jason Phu, Manipa Jayawan, Johnswat Angsuvarnsiri 2pm until 3pm  at TCDC- Reserve your seat for free!
