Central Chiang Mai Invites Visitors to Rediscover the City’s Past at “Wan Wan Yan Mueang Kao”
Central Chiang Mai invites visitors to step back in time and experience the charm of the city’s heritage at “Wan Wan Yan Mueang Kao”, or “Days Gone By in the Old Town”, taking place from 28 July to 9 August 2026 on the Ground Floor of Central Chiang Mai.
The event brings the atmosphere of Chiang Mai’s historic neighbourhoods back to life through local cuisine, traditional ways of living and contemporary interpretations of northern culture.
Visitors can explore the Old Town Zone, featuring more than 100 traditional Thai and northern dishes from well-known Chiang Mai restaurants, including Kham Poy, Akantuka and many other local favourites.
A programme of nostalgic entertainment will also take place at the Saranrom Courtyard every day from 12 noon to 5.30pm, featuring classic Thai country music, traditional popular songs and retro-style performances.
One of the event’s highlights is the “Sud Yod Sut Ban Chan” cooking competition, or “The Best Recipe from My Home”, in which six finalist teams will compete in a special Pad Thai challenge.
The winning team will receive a prestigious trophy presented by the Chiang Mai Restaurant and Entertainment Venue Association.
Visitors are invited to relive treasured memories and discover Chiang Mai’s unique blend of heritage, food and contemporary culture at “Wan Wan Yan Mueang Kao”, from 28 July to 9 August 2026, on the Ground Floor of Central Chiang Mai.
